I craft jewellery that carries the feel of Sri Lanka’s south coast. In my small workshop in Dickwella, I cut, shape, and polish every piece by hand. I work with 18‑carat gold, sterling silver, recycled ebony wood, and shells that I collect responsibly after their natural life ends.

I’m Daminda, a jewellery artisan from Kandy, Sri Lanka. My journey into jewellery-making began with my father, the chief designer at the National Design Centre, whose craftsmanship deeply influenced me. Surrounded by his designs, I developed a passion for creating my own pieces, learning the importance of attention to detail and precision.

Saranga Nayanajith is the creative director and artisan jeweller behind a family legacy that has spanned generations in Gampaha, Sri Lanka. He took over the family business in 1999 after it was founded by his father in 1985, carrying forward a tradition of excellence.
